Tyrian quests with Cantha's characters - Guild Wars Forums

First off - sorry if there was a question like this already, I tried to search, but didn't found.

If I create a prophecies profession in Cantha, will I be able to complete quests in Tyria for gaining prophecies skills? Thanks for advance.

Yes you shall, but if youre W/A or something, you wont get the A skills, as there kind of arent any (in prophecies).

Yeah, for the most part everything works.
The only problem you ever face is if you take a Rt or A primary to Tyria.. you can't buy armor or anything.

Well, my experience so far is that Arenanet has limited what characters from one continent can do on the other continent. Prophesies characters, created in Factions and then who cross over to Lion's Arch, are only able to do missions & quests from Gates of Kryta onward, nothing before that. So Factions characters will never be cartographers in Tyria, and Prophesies characters will never be cartographers in Cantha. At least that's what I've experienced so far.

they have already announced that they will be opening up the missions to everyone.

Ok, I don't think this has actually been answered in this thread yet, although it has in others. You will be able to get skills from quests for the six core professions, but only for skills quests that occur AFTER Lion's Arch, such as the jungle, and desert. Possibly Beetletun, ToA, southern Kryta, but I believe I heard a while ago that the northern Kryta skill quests are not available for Canthans.
